A Mountain Hut Once Stood on Medziholie. Do You Know What Remains Today?

Hard Times and Demise

The hut’s history was far from easy:

• During World War II, it was burned down.

• Later it was rebuilt, but its story did not end happily.

• In 1985 it burned down for good and was never rebuilt again.

Today, on Medziholie you will only find a spring of fresh water and the remains of the hut’s foundations. Still, the place breathes history, and many hikers stop here to rest and imagine what the mountain hut might have looked like beneath the majestic peaks of Rozsutec and Stoh.
