If you want to see Terchová and the Malá Fatra mountains from a completely different perspective, you should definitely visit the Terchová Lookout Tower. This modern wooden structure has become one of the symbols of the village and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding nature and the region’s famous landmarks.

A modern landmark of the village

The tower was built in 2020 on the Oblaz hill, directly above the site where the Jánošíkove dni festival is held every year. Thanks to its location, it is visible from many parts of Terchová and immediately catches the eye of visitors.

  • Constructed from wood and steel, it combines a modern yet natural look.

  • It reaches a height of about 30 meters and features several viewing platforms.

  • As you climb, new and ever more stunning views of Terchová and the Malá Fatra gradually open up.

Views worth the climb

From the top of the tower, you can enjoy a panoramic view of:

  • the Veľký Rozsutec and the surrounding peaks of the Malá Fatra,

  • the entire village of Terchová and the Varínka valley,

  • the statue of Juraj Jánošík, standing just below the tower.

Especially at sunset, the view from the tower becomes an unforgettable experience.

Easily accessible for everyone

The lookout tower is accessible on foot directly from the center of Terchová – the walk takes only about 15 minutes. This makes it an ideal destination for families with children or for visitors who want to enjoy a short trip without demanding hiking.

A tip for your stay

The Terchová Lookout Tower is a perfect place for:

  • a morning walk with views of the village in early mist,

  • sunset photography over the Malá Fatra,

  • a romantic evening stroll.

If you stay at Apartment Adventourist, the tower is practically “just around the corner.” Make sure to include it in your itinerary – it’s a place that beautifully combines modern architecture, nature, and the tradition of Terchová.
